The January 1996 death of Robert Kumpe resulted in the establishment of a memorial scholarship fund in his name. The Kumpe scholarship is funded from profits from the Northwest Ohio Festival Soccer Tournament and the Northwest Ohio Youth Soccer League. Mr. Kumpe was the founding member of the "Festival Tournament", an annual soccer tournament held in various locations throughout the Toledo area. Robert Kumpe was a Maumee High School graduate who resided in Perrysburg and taught in Toledo Public Schools was instrumental in bringing girls competitive soccer to the area.

This year 2022 is the 27th time this scholarship has been given out. During the past twenty seven years, we have distributed over $215,000.00 in scholarship awards.
